Pennsylvania State College, Class of 1921 records, 1917-1976.

This collection consists of student scrapbooks and materials from the Class of 1921 reunions. Scrapbooks created by Class of 1921 alumni Earl W. Barton and Julia Gregg Brill include photographs of students engaged in student activities, such as class scraps, and other memorabilia, such as dance cards and newspaper clippings. There are also commencement and class day exercises programs. The scrapbooks also include publications about Penn State alumni from their graduation until the reunion. Scrapbooks feature Penn State presidents (known as "prexies") and changes at the university, such as building expansion. In addition, Frederick H. Leuschner compiled reunion materials spanning from the tenth to the fiftieth class reunions, including programs of reunion events and highlights, activities of class members, lists of alumni attending the reunions, notices about deceased classmates, and photographs of all alumni participating in reunion events. In addition to the scrapbooks, there is a book of Class of 1921 class songs.

Julia Gregg Brill was born on September 15, 1891 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. She was a 1908 graduate of Sunbury High School and a 1910 graduate of Bloomsburg State Normal School. She began her teaching career in a one room school in Town Hill in 1910. She later taught high school at Huntington Mills and then enrolled at the Pennsylvania State College. In 1921, Brill graduated with a bachelor's degree in classical languages and six years later received her master's degree in English. She taught Engl...
